Cooking bacon is really very simple. The following shows how it is done using several methods.

Cooking in a Frying Pan

Put the bacon strips in the frying pan. Make sure that they don’t touch each other.

Also, you should not heat the pan as this will make the bacon curl. Turn the burners on to medium levels; if it’s too high, the fats are going to fly all over as you cook.

Every once in a while, flip the bacon over to cook both sides. If the Bacon is chewy, it is not yet cooked.

After you are done cooking bacon, turn off the burner. Put the strips onto a napkin. The napkin will drain all of the fat. But remove the strips quickly or it will stick to the paper.

Getting the timing right comes with practice. It may be a little chewy at first or too crispy. But eventually, you’ll get it right.

Cooking in the Microwave

Note: this is a general guide; most microwaves have specific instructions. Follow them when you cook. Prepare the dish, paper towels, and bacon strips first.

Place paper towels on the dish. Line the bacon strips side by side. Again, they mustn’t touch one another. Put a few more paper towels over the strips.

For cooking bacon, turn the microwave to the maximum setting. The cooking time will vary. Generally, it takes about 2 minutes for a couple of slices.

When cooking is finished, turn off the microwave. Put the bacon strips on paper towels. Let it rest for a minute or so. After that, it is ready to be eaten.

Not only do the paper towels drain the fat, but it also keeps the kitchen clean. Just discard the towels; there is no need to worry about cleaning up any grease.

Cooking in the Oven

Do not preheat the oven. Put the bacon strips in the pan. Put the broiler in the oven. The temperature should be set to 400 F. Bake it for 10 to 15 minutes. Turn it over and cook the other side for 15 minutes also.

You can continue cooking bacon for another 10 minutes or so to get the crispiness or texture desired. The longer you bake, the crispier it will be.

You can put the bacon strips on a cookie sheet if you won’t eat it yet. This can be frozen for half an hour. If you plan to freeze it, the bacon should be underdone a little.

Ways of Serving

You can have the bacon strips with some scrambled eggs for breakfast. It can also be used for snacks. Just grab some sandwiches and tomatoes.

You might also get some cheese, mayonnaise, and some hamburgers. That should make for a filling snack. Some like to eat bacon with their pancakes or you can just eat them without any garnishing.

Cooking bacon takes very little effort. A little practice and you’ll have the nuances all figured out.

You’d be surprised at how easy it will be to serve sumptuous meals with bacon.
