How to Cook Sweet Potatoes

This special main entrée contains three cups sweet potatoes, 1 ½ cups sugar, four beaten eggs, a teaspoon of vanilla, a teaspoon of dark rum and a teaspoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice. The other ingredients are ½ teaspoon nutmeg, a teaspoon of cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon salt, 2 ½ cups milk, a stick of butter and a cup flaked coconut.

Peel the main ingredient and boil in saline. Mash and mix with butter. Add the lemon, vanilla, sugar, dark rum, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Mix well. In a small bowl, beat eggs and add the coconut and milk. Melt extra butter in a casserole and place the mashed potatoes. Transfer the casserole in an oven that was preheated to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake for 20 minutes to 30 minutes. Serve immediately.

Fried Sweet Potatoes

The ingredients for this appetizer include a medium size sweet potato, ¼ teaspoon nutmeg, ¼ teaspoon cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon sugar and a teaspoon of butter. Slice the potato into several portions. Season with cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar. Melt butter in a skillet and fry the main ingredient. Cook for seven minutes and serve immediately.

Sweet Potato Pone

The ingredients for this dish are four large sweet potatoes, a cup of packed brown sugar, a cup of butter, two eggs, ½ teaspoon garlic cloves, ½ teaspoon cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon salt, a teaspoon of vanilla, ½ cup molasses, ½ lemon and ½ orange. Grate potatoes. Mix the sugar and butter in a small bowl. Add the potatoes, salt, sugar, eggs, garlic, cinnamon and vanilla. Stir in the orange, lemon and molasses. Beat the mixture and transfer in a greased baking dish. Preheat oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the dish inside the oven and bake for an hour.
